Velocity Technology Solutions Expands Disaster Recovery Options
NEW YORK CITY, November 9, 2011 – Velocity Technology Solutions, Inc., the ERP in the cloud company, has expanded its managed application services to offer higher-level disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity solutions. This fully managed DR capability, facilitated by Velocity’s recent acquisition of WTS, Inc., brings disaster recovery services to a new level by guaranteeing full application and data restoration. As a result, Velocity’s Infor/Lawson, Oracle/JD Edwards, Kronos, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) customers can recover data up to the minute when a disaster strikes.
“With Velocity’s expanded disaster recovery solution, bringing ERP software to the cloud is even easier and safer than before,” said Tom Bruno, president and CEO of Velocity. “In addition to convenience and productivity benefits, ERP in the cloud provides even better application and data restoration than other subscription disaster recovery/business continuity options. With the support of Velocity’s DR services, executives can focus on customers and a quick resolution, should disaster strike.”
Velocity’s virtual-private cloud disaster recovery service helps mitigate the risk associated with a regional disaster. Whether it’s a power outage, natural disaster, hardware failure, or just assisting with the voluminous number of applications needing recovery, the Velocity solution ensures that organizations can recover their business-critical systems and data quickly, with minimal disruption and no disaster declaration fees. The solution provides assurance that Velocity’s customer systems are being recovered by experts who intimately understand their systems, the disaster recovery process, and the critical business resiliency DR provides to support the customer’s specific Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
In addition, because Velocity executes the restoration process on its customers’ behalf, enterprise IT departments are freed to focus on other corporate responsibilities in the event of a catastrophe. On a weekly basis, Velocity performs DR tests for one or more customers to ensure processes, systems, and people are at the ready to provide the highest level of service.
The addition of higher-level disaster recovery services greatly strengthens the case for organizations that are considering moving their ERP to Velocity’s virtual-private cloud. Velocity customers have always benefited from their solutions being hosted in secure, SSAE 16 compliant data centers with backup systems and disaster recovery for business continuity. The addition of this new disaster recovery functionality further improves security. At the same time, accessing ERP applications and data through the cloud reduces operational costs and increases availability while reducing demands on IT staff, eliminating IT capital investments and providing scalability on systems and resource availability.
WTS began offering its Managed Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity service in 2007. The company was acquired by Velocity in September 2011, and enhanced ERP disaster recovery and business continuity services are now available to all Velocity customers.
