COLLABORATE 13 will be held from April 7 – 11 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver and is presented by the Independent Oracle Users Group (IOUG), Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG) and Quest International Users Group. Velocity subject matter experts will present two COLLABORATE 13 Education Sessions.
On Wednesday, April 10 from 4:15 p.m. – 5:15 p.m., Jim Knight will present “Survivor - Disaster Recovery Edition,” (session 105400, room 403). The session will cover actual identified disaster risks, actions and challenges faced by companies using JD Edwards enterprise applications, including a review of timelines and events surrounding potential disasters, preparations for an actual declaration, and the testing scenarios implemented for critical systems, applications and data. Attendees will hear firsthand from end users about disaster recovery best practices and how to protect the availability of JD Edwards and other Oracle applications in the cloud.
On Thursday, April 11 at 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., Ward Quarles will present “Why Business Applications Are Moving to the Cloud,” (session 109060, room 401) which outlines why companies are moving Oracle and complementary business applications to the cloud, critical success factors, specific examples of how companies are using business applications in the cloud to their advantage, and answer frequently asked questions about moving to cloud-based services.
