At Velocity, the workday is 24 hours long to support our customers.
Behind each of our Customer Relationship Managers stands a seasoned team of impassioned Velocity employees dedicated to ensuring that our customers' applications continuously support their business. Meet Shital Warkhede, one of those essential people who works behind the proverbial curtain for Velocity in Pune, one of India's fastest-growing technology centers.
Shital joined Velocity through Titan Technology Partners, the company that we acquired earlier this year
. His history with us goes back to 2011, but his tenure as a PeopleSoft software expert and project management specialist goes back further. Prior to his role at Titan, he spent 10 years at India's largest IT services company, where he was instrumental in planning and executing various projects for the consultancy's customers in both India and North America. Today, as Director of our India Center of Excellence, he is responsible for the broad spectrum of customer implementation, delivery and execution services provided by our India team for PeopleSoft, Oracle and JD Edwards ERP systems. He also oversees our Business Process Outsourcing
(BPO) division in India.
To say Shital is a busy person would be an understatement for, on top of his responsibilities overseeing the smooth execution of customer projects and engagements, he has a number of administrative leadership responsibilities as the lead executive in that office. Assisting with recruitment efforts to staff this expanding office is one of his key areas of focus these days.
"Velocity's team in Pune works around the clock to ensure that our global customers can sleep well at night knowing that the systems that drive their businesses are in knowledgeable, vigilant and reliable hands," he said. "Velocity is exceptionally good at what it does, and that is fueling demand for our services which, in turn, means we need to routinely increase our staffing to accommodate it."
As Shital explained, however, becoming a member of the Velocity family in Pune or any other office is no easy feat.
He continued: "It takes a very particular type of professional to meet the superior standards demanded of Velocity employees. Having the technology competencies, analytical skills, and systems expertise is only one part of the qualifications required. Having the drive and discipline to do the right thing the right way every time -- that's what keeps our customers' systems performing as they should and how we deliver exceptional service every day. Our recruitment practices are vigorous to help us identify people who can fit our unique mold. It's the reason I work so closely with HR to make sure we get it right."
